Refurbishment Progress - Week Seven
We have now owned the pub nearly two months and a lot has been going on inside and out!
Our decorators are working their way round the outside of the pub applying our new colour scheme:
Volunteers have helped to clear the grounds and started cutting the grass!
We have also completed the paperwork for the renaming to The Winterbourne so the old signs have come down:
Inside, volunteers have removed all the partitions to open up the pub. Our tradesmen have then re-plastered all the walls and ceilings to give a more modern finish, and sanded the floors down ready for varnishing:
Volunteers have also cleared behind the bar ready for our carpenter to remodel the left hand side of it:
Upstairs, our volunteers have cleaned and re-painted all the rooms in the flat giving it a clean and fresh finish ready for a tenant to move in:
We have also completely stripped out the old kitchen equipment:
Amongst all the mess and disruption we have also managed to open the bar for drinks five times and have had great support from our members and villagers:
Thanks to all the volunteers that have given up their time to help us so far, we could not have got this much done without all your help!
Thanks also to those that have made financial donations towards the refurbishment, including:
- Simon Hylson-Smith for his donation of £1000 towards new garden benches
- Gowan & Angela Bewsher for their donation of £250 towards the decorating works
- John & Jackie Austin for their donation of new radiators for the conservatory
