More than a Pub Grant

We are delighted to announce that we have received a small grant award of £1,759 from More than a Pub to help our tenants deal with the challenges of Covid-19 social distancing measures during lockdown in March-June 2020.

More than a Pub is a £2.2 million programme established to help community ownership of pubs in England and is funded by Power to Change. It is being delivered by national charity the Plunkett Foundation in collaboration with Co-operative & Community Finance, Key Fund, the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), Co-operative Mutual Solutions, Pub is the Hub, Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and Locality.

Our tenants Roger & Emie Hawkshaw have used the funds to buy a new pizza oven to increase the diversity of their takeaway menu, a bottled drinks fridge to offer chilled beers and ciders with the takeaways, and the remainder being used to offset the additional costs of the takeaway packaging. Their new takeaway menu features several mouth watering pizza options!
